I am 1 dpo!!! It has been a LONG time since I had a REAL dpo to report!
My ultrasound was this morning. I ovulated both eggs!! WooHoo!!! I was very uncertain that I had ovulated at all because my temp was 97.6 this morning and I still hurt. I sure didn’t want to have to go get a HCG shot and go back tomorrow for another IUI! And to be monitored every few days to know when to get the HCG shot every cycle hereafter! Good grief, my boss would have a cow! She doesn’t handle this well at all as it is!
Once again, this U/S was very quick. He said my lining looked good and both ovaries were empty. That was pretty much all he did. So I asked him how large my eggs had been and he said they were between 25 and 30mm each!! OMG! No wonder I hurt! He went on to tell me that normal eggs ovulate when they are between 20 and 25mm, but on Clomid they grow to be 25 to 30mm. That makes sense to me. The U/S only cost us $55. Insurance will pay half.
I asked him if I was to report any pregnancies to my regular OB or to them. He said to call & come in for a test if I made it to 14 days and to not take an hpt (unless I couldn’t help it…lol). He didn’t want to get my hopes up and then have them crash. Frankly, I think I’d rather get a negative hpt than wait around (days?!) for blood test results– just to get a negative result. So, I don’t know what to do…. I guess I’ll just see how I feel. The Dr. also told me that they will monitor me until 8 to 10 weeks of pregnancy. I took that to mean lots of ultrasounds!!! I am so looking forward to seeing that heartbeat!
Once again, I wore both of my charms. Funny thing, yesterday my medieval charm developed a pearly rainbow sheen to it, which it still has today. A sign?! If this works on shot #1, I will definitely want to pass on my lucky charms to one of my TTC girls!
