22w1d OB appt

All good. Heartbeat in 160s. B/P was very good- lower than it has been by a good bit. Yay! Only thing to really happen that was “exciting” was as I was sitting there waiting for my dr to come in, I hear a nurse run down the hall and loudly proclaim “Dr… you’re needed in labor and delivery NOW.”
Yay.
So I got to see the Nurse Practitioner instead. No big. She’s nice and it happens, surprisingly, only about once a pregnancy. She didn’t like that I had lost 2 pounds. Sheesh- I really didn’t gain 6 the time before, that’s all. Doesn’t matter. Now is when I start gaining. I’ll be up 25 pounds by the end.
I get to try the one hour GTT next time. If I have to go back for the 3 hour I am going to be ticked… I always fail that!!
And after that- it’s every 2 weeks time! Is it just me or did that happen really fast???!
So, when I am not miserably fatigued like I have been all day up until about 3 hours before bedtime for the last 2 weeks… and when my back behaves… I’m doing pretty good! I’m loving the 2 or so times a day I feel her move! She especially loves about an hour after supper.
Nursery is ready for the detailed painting. Just waiting for the energy…
I’m having a lil baby!! I’m having a daughter!!! I can’t wait to nuzzle a soft fuzzy head! 😀

Airplane Alphabet Banner

Andy (3 1/2) and I did this together today. We all ended up in stitches! First I demonstrated how to trace each letter with my finger, then Andy did his best to trace it with a crayon. I made funny sounds for each letter (ex. B said “Bonk! Hump! Bump!, Z said “Zip! Zap! Zip!”). We also switched between 4 colors of crayons and between each letter I held them up and did something funny (ex. Red said “Pick me, Pick me!”) He thought this was hilarious!
When it came time to put the pieces together, we did it like a puzzle. After picking the first section, we sang the ABC song until our letters ended and then wondered what came next. He’d pick one piece and we’d sing the song again with the new letters on the end. When the letters were wrong I clued him in with a funny voice… which had Brendan howling with laughter.
It was fun! It’s now hung down our hallway wall. I don’t remember where I got this activity from, but if anyone comes across it and lets me know, I’ll happily post a link!

Anatomy ultrasound

20w4d. Had the 2nd part of the anatomy scan today with the peri. Everything looks perfect! Baby girl weighs 13 ounces now! The head measures 1 day ahead- I forgot to ask overall. Everything from the pinkie fingers to the lips to the heart to the legs look perfect. YAY!

I asked if there was a pain reliever other than tylenol that I could take. He asked what pain was having and I told him about the spot between my left hip and spine on my back. Sometimes it hurts so bad I can’t lift up my left foot. He said it is called the Sacroiliac joint. Apparently it is a fairly common issue with all the pregnancy hormones that relax you in order to prepare for birth. He said I could take an occasional ibuprofen but only through 24 weeks or I can try a muscle relaxant (that’ll apparently knock me flat out) called Flexeril. Considering I’ve been walking around the past several days muttering “my kingdom for an advil,” I’ll take 4 weeks of being able to take it if required!!! He also recommended either massage therapy, a chiropractor or acupunture. I’ll be checking to see if a chiropractor is covered on my insurance.

Happy Half Way!!!

19w3d. Tonight marks the half way point to my c-section date of May 24th! Woot!!!
Aunt Cathy took us shopping a couple days ago… 6-7 more outfits (Icluding a seriously cute red top with push to the side sleeves. Andy chose a sleeper with a strawberry on the butt that came with a matching soft doll and Bren chose 2 piece pajamas with LOVE on the front and heart all over the pants.) and the nusery set! I chose Cocalo’s Sugar Plum. The nursery is painted pink and soon we’ll have the rest put up! I’m excited!
